Dr. Ernie Teo

Dr. Ernie Teo is an economist and game theorist with a focus on technology, fintech and blockchain. He co-founded Dedoco, a document process solution that is built on blockchain to prevent tampering of the documents and create an audit trail for authentication and validation (signing). Ernie is also Vice Chairman of Blockchain Association Singapore and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore Business School where he teaches Fintech and Blockchain. Ernie is active in the blockchain community in Singapore, giving talks and seminar both in the industry and at universities. He has also published in the area of blockchain and fintech, most recently in the 2018 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering. A pioneer of blockchain education in Singapore, he conceptualized and taught the first blockchain course as a part of a degree program at the National University of Singapore. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Australia and also held academic positions in Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University.

Scott Thiel

Scott Thiel is DLA Piper’s Asia Head of Technology, Blockchain & Digital Assets and FinTech. His background in engineering and dual qualifications in both intellectual property law and computer science provide him with unique insight, and deep interest, in the technical aspects of all things blockchain and fintech-related.  

Scott has deep experience advising clients on all aspects of technology, media, and telecoms-related matters, and has guided some of the largest and most innovative global companies in their digital evolution strategies and processes as they adopt blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies regionally and beyond. 

Scott’s technology focus is of extra importance at DLA Piper as he leads a number of tech-related initiatives within the firm, such being a member of the firm’s Radical Change Council and being DLA Piper’s representative on the Hedera Hashgraph Governing Council. Through this, Scott has helped guide  DLA Piper through its own digital evolution process as the firm adapts to a more agile and connected future by way of technological advances. 

Scott is a non-executive director of the Blockchain Think Lab and Hedera Hashgraph.

Gary Tiu

Gary has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate legal counsel, specialising in regulatory affairs and financial products.

Prior to joining BC Group, Gary served as General Counsel for Yunfeng Financial Group and Asia Head of Legal and Compliance for Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners.

Earlier in his career, Gary specialised in structured derivatives, private equity and managed investment products at Macquarie Group and CITIC Capital.

Gary also currently serves as General Counsel for Reorient Group.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales.

Jonathan Tse

Jonathan has more than a decade of experience in trading and financial markets. Prior to joining Copper, he was the Head of Trading at Coinsuper. Before that he was an Equity Derivatives Trader at JP Morgan. He obtained a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies from Macquarie University in Australia.

Laurence Van der Loo

Laurence is Director, Technology and Operations at ASIFMA, the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association.

Based in Hong Kong, Laurence is responsible for coordinating ASIFMA’s Operations and Technology efforts including regulatory implementation, cost efficiencies, KYC/AML, fintech/regtech and cyber and cloud. ASIFMA’s work in this area includes regulatory advocacy, driving harmonization and work on industry best practices in these areas. In addition, she oversees several of ASIFMA’s regional committees in China and India. These committees help develop and shape ASIFMA’s regulatory engagement s to drive capital markets development in both countries. Laurence also supports the CEO team with ASIFMA’s corporate governance and board processes.

Laurence has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining ASIFMA in 2016, she was responsible for European business development at Vistra Hong Kong, assisting foreign companies and funds to set up in Asia. Before that, she managed a portfolio of Natural Resources Companies at ING Corporate Banking in Brussels, working on numerous ECM, DCM, securitisation and syndicated loan deals for her clients.

Laurence holds a Master Degree in Business Economics from the University of Ghent, and a Master Degree in International Business from EAE Business School. She is member of the Exco of the Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (BLCC) in Hong Kong as well as Women in Finance Asia. She is fluent in English, Dutch and French.

Adam Vaziri

Adam Vaziri is a blockchain lawyer and set up Diacle in 2013 to assist blockchain projects with compliance. He is a tireless blockchain entrepreneur and labelled a ‘bitcoin pioneer’ by Bitcoin Magazine. Adam believes that Web3.0 will bring blockchain to the mainstream but that regtech is required. Therefore Adam has established QRC to fund and accelerate blockchain products that use regtech. Adam is the founder of Blockpass – a self-sovereign identity application for regulated industries.

Maria Vovchok

Maria Vovchok is a journalist who’s passionate about Blockchain technology. She has seven years of experience as a news presenter and a journalist. Maria has been in a crypto space for more than three years now, working as a news editor and an anchor in several crypto media. Currently, she is responsible for building relations between investors and startup entrepreneurs. Maria was recently selected as an Event and Investor Relations Manager at Startup.Network (a professional network for the venture market participants), and a Conference Moderator at Geekle.us (a company which organizes online IT-conferences all around the world.) She is a moderator and a host at multiple Blockchain conferences. Maria is an ambassador of the Ukrainian Blockchain Association, she’s also a member of an international organization ”Blockchain Ladies” and ”Women on Tech”.

Tiffany Xingyu Wang

Tiffany Xingyu Wang is the Chief Strategy Officer at Spectrum Labs, in charge of strategic alliances, go-to-market operations and thought leadership on brand safety. She shares her learnings about digital governance at InternetHealthProject.com.

Tiffany is an angel investor and advisor in AI, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing startups. Her investment thesis revolves around data privacy and cyber safety. She sits on the US Technology Policy Committee of Association for Computing Machinery.

Previously, she led AI product management for Data Management Platform at Salesforce.com. Tiffany was also an award-winning investor across Africa, Asia, and Europe, receiving accolades including the Thomson Reuters Deal Awards and the Malaysian Greentech Award.

Olga Yaroshevsky

   Olga Yaroshevsky has become a personality known in the global blockchain community for her media management and content work with NexChange Group and previously with Tokenbox project. Her interviews with widely respected figures in the blockchain world are renown and include talks with Roger Ver, Brock Pierce, John McAfee, and Dirk Ahlborn.

    Before joining the blockchain industry, Ms Yaroshevsky worked as journalist, interviewer, editor and reporter for TV channels in Moscow and Kiev, Ukraine, while contributing to a number of magazines and printed journals. In 2014 she moved to the United States, where she worked as an editor and writer for RT news website and pursued an academic career as a teacher of Russian language and literature for students of AU, Georgetown University, Russian Cultural Centre and post-graduates involved in the international Alfa Bank fellowship program.

    Ms Yaroshevsky graduated from the Journalism Department at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2010, she completed her PhD research in Russian literature (philology) and received a scientific degree.
