A member of Asia Fintech 100, Mikaal is the co founder and CEO of 8 Securities, a mobile investing service for Millennials. Prior to starting 8 Securities, Mikaal was a Senior Vice President and the Head of Asia at E*TRADE. Mikaal began his career as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte in the United States. Mikaal has extensive international experience having launched and managed businesses and online consumer products across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, India and the North America.

Imad Abou-Haidar is Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Finastra, the world’s third-largest Fintech company.

He holds a proven track record of leading businesses providing end-to- end software solutions for retail banking, transaction banking, lending, and treasury and capital markets for financial institutions worldwide.

Country Manager, Hong Kong and Macau - PwC

Caroline Ada was appointed Country Manager of Hong Kong and Macau in September 2015. She is responsible for building Visa’s brand and business, as well as overseeing strategic development in Hong Kong and Macau.

Caroline joined Visa as Country Manager in New Zealand and South Pacific in 2012. During her tenure, she led the strategy and successful rollout of Visa payWave across critical merchant segments including deals with the largest supermarket businesses in New Zealand, which included utilization of VisaNet assets.

From 2006 to 2010, Caroline worked in card acceptance and innovation roles at Visa, culminating in the position of Director of Innovation Products for Australasia. During her tenure, Caroline led the successful market implementation of Visa payWave across Australia, drove the accelerated development of EMV in both Australia and New Zealand, and managed the launch of the first Visa direct switch merchant in Asia Pacific.


Caroline is a passionate advocate of payment innovation and technology in Hong Kong, focused on digitizing payments with key partners. Key innovations such as Visa Checkout and Tokenisation have successfully rolled out in Hong Kong. Hong Kong now enjoys one of the highest penetration of mobile payments in Asia Pacific, after launching in July 2016.


She has a wealth of payments industry experience, having previously held the position of Regional General Manager and Head of Transaction and Savings Products at Suncorp Bank in Brisbane. Caroline gained extensive experience in frontline sales and services where she has held positions as Loyalty Manager at Westpac Australia and in a variety of product and sales roles at Coles Group – one of Australia’s largest retail groups.

After 4 years as a professional musician, Zak began his financial career in late 1997 as an equities trader in the City of London. He went on to co-found Boka Group, an alternative investment firm, and moved into executive search and advisory, focusing exclusively on the asset & wealth management sectors. Zak returned to the investment industry in January 2017, joining BetaSmartz as Head of Asia, based in Hong Kong. He also sits on the investment committee and globally leads sales and client relations.

Graduated with honor in Economics from the University of Turin, he also has a master's degree in Banking & Finance at SDA Luigi Bocconi. With a strong banking experience, Vincenzo joined the Innovation Center of Intesa Sanpaolo in 2014. Previously Vincenzo has been involved in different fields spanning from Sales Department (Branch Manager) to pricing analysis (Senior Pricing Analyst) for the Italian Market, from Strategic Marketing Department to Customer Satisfaction and Market Research Division.  With Responsibility of the International HUB Network Office of the Innovation Center, he has the aim to support innovative projects of the Bank creating new business opportunities for international Company Customers, scouting new technologies and generating international collaborations in order to facilitate match-making.


Fintech & RegTech Lead - PwC (China/HK)

Henri Arslanian is the PwC FinTech & RegTech Lead for China/Hong Kong. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong where he teaches graduate courses on Entrepreneurship in Finance as well as the first FinTech university course in Asia.

Henri is a TEDx speaker, a published author, and currently sits on several finance, academic, government, civil society, and FinTech/RegTech related boards and advisory boards in Asia and globally. Henri is a member of the Hong Kong regulator’s SFC FinTech Advisory Group and the Hong Kong government’s FSDC Fintech working group. He also sits on the board of the FinTech Association of Hong Kong and the board of the International RegTech Association.


A member of the Milken Institute’s Young Leaders Circle and with over 300,000 LinkedIn followers, Henri has been awarded many industry and academic awards over the years from being named one of the Most Influential Individuals in FinTech in Asia to being awarded the Governor General of Canada Gold
Medal for Academic Excellence.


Before joining PwC, Henri was with a FinTech start-up and previously spent many years with UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong. Henri started his career as a financial markets and funds lawyer in Canada and Hong Kong.


Henri speaks five languages including English, French, Armenian, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. He holds a Masters in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University; a joint Global Executive MBA from Columbia Business School, London Business School, and Hong Kong University; a Masters in Transnational Law from the University of Sherbrooke; and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Montreal (Dean’s List of Excellence).

CCA is a Key Parter of the U.S. State Department's Global Entrepreneurship Program that works to further diplomacy and stability through building effective entrepreneurial and early-stage funding ecosystems.

One of the three people responsible for creating the CrowdFund Investment Framework used by the President in the Jobs Act, that helped change the laws making crowdfund investing legal in the US. As a founding member of Startup Exemption, Jason worked for 460 days from to change 78 year old securities laws. Their team were honored to be attend the Rose Garden Ceremony at the White House on April 5, 2012 to watch President Obama sign crowdfunding legislation.

He also co-built Booz-Allen’s Jakarta office and started his career as an R&D engineer in fiber-optic telecommunications with Rockwell.

He has an AB in Physics from Harvard, an Advanced Certificate in Maths from Cambridge, and an MS in Management from MIT. Michael Braendle is a Principal Cloud Architect at Amazon Web Services Professional Services Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau. Michael helps large enterprise customers enabling their digital transformation strategies, develop architecture blueprints and migration strategies to accelerate the cloud adoption and optimize time and value.
Before joining AWS, Michael was the CTO for UBS Wealth Management APAC and acted as Lead Architect in various large digitalization and transformation initiatives. Michael brings over 15-years’ experience working in multiple roles in Technology and Financial Services Industry across Europe and APAC.


Head of Product and Partner Integrations at HireAthena

Andrew Brandt is the head of product and partner integrations at HireAthena, the leading accounting and HR outsourcing firm for start-ups in the heart of Silicon Valley. HireAthena is helping companies scale quickly by utilizing a tech enabled remote workforce to consolidate back-office functions onto HireAthena's proprietary dashboard. In Andrew's previous role as the head of operations at HireAthena, he worked closely with all services and customers to gain the insights needed to establish long term goals and drive product development.  Prior to HireAthena, Andrew spent six years with the US Federal Government, supporting the development of a robust Business Intelligence and Analysis program designed to streamline operations across large federal contracts.


Director of Finance - Mother's Choice (HK)

Rebecca Brosnan is an angel investor and adviser to technology start-ups around the world. From 2010 to 2016, Brosnan served in various senior roles at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited an owner and operator of three securities and derivatives exchanges and five clearinghouses. In her ultimate role as Managing Director, Head of Product Development, she was responsible for the design of investment products and risk management tools including ETFs, structured products and equity, fixed income, currency and commodity derivatives. This built on her experience on having successfully developed and launched new commodities products 

One of her largest areas of contribution at HKEx was in developing and then executing on the strategy that led HKEx into the global commodities market. Brosnan served as Managing Director, Head of Asia Commodities, responsible for the London Metal Exchange’s business in Asia-Pacific. In this role she managed sales and marketing teams in the Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore offices to covering industrial and mining clients in China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia while also keeping in sync with the head office of the LME in London. In this role she executed a strategy, which had served as the rationale for the acquisition of the LME, a deal Brosnan had run while Senior Vice President, Head of the Business Development and Strategy. She was responsible for identifying potential strategic opportunities as well as contributing to the long-term strategic plan of HKEx. In this capacity Brosnan developed HKEx’s commodities strategy and lead the team that acquired the LME.


Prior to joining HKEx in 2010, Brosnan worked in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch.  She led the execution and origination of equity, debt, equity-linked and M&A transactions across Asia.  She previously served as a Legal Assistant in the Corporate Finance and Litigation groups of Skadden, Arps in Hong Kong and Washington, D.C.


A passionate believer in social engagement, Brosnan currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Mother’s Choice, a leading NGO dedicated to helping pregnant girls in crisis and caring for babies without families in Hong Kong. In this role she is responsible for organization-wide strategy development, front-line services and operations and financial and investment management including audit activities, budgeting process, liquidity management and the investment activities. In addition, Brosnan serves on the Asia- Pacific Regional Board of Room to Read, a global NGO dedicated to education and literacy for children around the world. Brosnan is a member of the Young Leaders Circle of the Milken Institute and the Hong Kong Executive Forum. In 2016, China Daily and the Asia News Network awarded Brosnan the “Asian Women’s Leadership Award” which recognizes dynamic, successful and dedicated Asian women who are agents of change in their societies and those who are role models in entrepreneurship, innovation, charity and the empowerment of women.


Brosnan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Trinity College, and master’s degree in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Andy Chan is taking the Hong Kong fintech world by storm. As co-founder of Qupital, Andy helps small- and medium-sized enterprises connect with investors to gain access to immediate funding on unpaid invoices. Since launching Qupital only 1 year ago, Andy and his co-founder have secured funding from both Hong Kong-based MindWorks Ventures and ecommerce juggernaut Alibaba, a first for a fintech startup in Hong Kong.

Stanley Chao is co-founder and Head of Data Science at Red Pulse. Stanley has 11 years of experience in financial services, primarily as a hedge fund portfolio manager and quantitative trader. Head of Business Development and Strategy – Aegon Asia

Curtis joined Aegon in March of 2017 as the Head of Business Development and Strategy. This was a newly created role created in order to accelerate the development of new innovative business models and formation of ecosystem partnerships in the region. Curtis is a member of the Asia Executive Team reporting to the CEO of Aegon Asia. Prior to joining Aegon, Curtis served as Managing Director and Head of Strategy for ANZ Bank’s International and Institutional Division, a $7.5 billion business spanning 23 markets in Asia Pacific. There he undertook a major digital disruption initiative for the retail bank, led ANZ entry into Thailand and Myanmar and guided a 300 MM/Year divisional capital allocation process. Curtis has also worked at ABN AMRO Bank both as Head of FIG Coverage and as MD of Strategy and Corporate Development, where he led 2 control acquisitions and formed 3 equity JVs. He started working in Asia in 1996 for Aetna International, Inc as they expanded into ASEAN markets. Prior to that Curtis worked for 7 years in New York for Booz, Allen and Hamilton. The Honorable Bart Chilton served as Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (2007-2014) and as the Chair of the Energy and Environmental Markets, and Global Markets Advisory Committees.He has been an ardent and outspoken advocate for consumer protections throughout his 30 years of government service and is the author of Ponzimonium: How Scam Artists Are Ripping Off America. Commissioner Chilton served in senior staff positions in the U.S. government--in the House and Senate and during three presidential administrations. He is currently a policy and political commentator and speaker, and an opinion editorialist who regularly is seen on business television. He's known for exciting, novel and entertaining speeches which mix culture and policy with current events. He is also the world's only financial poet.


Chief Fintech Officer - Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) (HK)

Nelson Chow has been appointed to the present position from 1 September 2016 with responsibilities for facilitating the healthy development of the fintech
ecosystem in Hong Kong and promoting Hong Kong as a fintech hub in Asia.

He joined the HKMA in 2004 and was responsible for the supervision of banks’ technology risk management and business continuity planning as well as the
formulation of related policies and guidelines. He was the Deputy Chief Representative of the New York Office in 2010. After returning to Hong Kong in 2013, he took up responsibilities to supervise banks’ operational risk management and perform macro-prudential data analysis. Prior to joining the
HKMA, Mr Chow was a Vice President of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. responsible for information risk management of the Asia Pacific region. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Auckland and a Master of Science degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Managing Director - GSX Limited (Gibraltar)

Nick formed GSX as Managing Director in 2012. In November 2014 GSX received its full license and formally opened GSX, Gibraltar’s first Stock Exchange. He is a specialist in investment business with over 30 years experience working in both Japan and Europe.

Born in England, Nick started work in 1984 working in Newton Asset Management in London before moving into investment banking, trading derivatives at Japanese securities company Yamaichi. After being headhunted by Baring Securities he was posted to Tokyo in 1989 as Head of Trading (Managing Director) where he oversaw the transition from an open outcry trading system to screen based OTC. On returning to the UK in 1992, he was hired by Bear Stearns as Head of Trading (Managing Director) in their London office to help establish Bear as a leader in Emerging Markets.

In 1996, Nick joined ING Barings as the Global Head of Equity Trading, managing the global risk of Equities, Derivatives and Convertible Bonds with 250 traders in 24
countries. During his tenure Nick created and implemented globally Trading Practices, a protocol for order execution and risk management. In 1999 Nick became Global Head of Equities (Executive Director) and Member of the Executive Board of ING Barings, overseeing 2,500 employees in 43 countries, revenues in excess of US$1 bln, 40 Stock Exchange memberships and large departments of Derivatives, Convertible Bonds, Prime Brokerage and Futures and Option Clearing in the main global financial centres. Nick was also jointly responsible for Equity Capital Markets. During his tenure Nick oversaw a large number of acquisitions, divestments and restructurings to restore profitability for ING.


Chief Regional Risk Officer, VISA

Joe Cunningham is the Chief Regional Risk Officer for Visa in Asia Pacific, with responsibility for championing security in the industry and maintaining the integrity of the payments ecosystem. This complex and fast evolving ecosystem includes issuing and acquiring clients, merchants, cardholders, and service providers such as processors, device manufacturers, and payment gateways. Reporting to Visa’s Chief Enterprise Risk Officer, the RRO is also responsible for strategic risk management for the business, credit settlement risk, brand protection, fraud management and data security across Asia Pacific. Head of FinTech at investHK .gov .hk

Charles d'Haussy is Head of FinTech at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), the department of the Hong Kong SAR Government responsible for Foreign Direct Investment. 

In 2016, InvestHK has set up a Fintech team to attract leading Fintech companies, entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators from Mainland and overseas and support their businesses set up and expansion in Hong Kong. 

The Fintech team is distributed between Hong Kong, London and Silicon Valley. They provide practical support and assistance on setting up offices, facilitating visa and banks accounts, regulators introductions, networking opportunities, guidance in government grants and funding.


Mr d'Haussy has 13 years’ experience in Hong Kong private sector, having set up his company and holding a number of entrepreneurial and management roles. Before joining InvestHK, Charles was head of sales and business development with a leading Hong Kong online broker and robo-adviser.


Mr d'Haussy held SFC licenses 1 & 4, studied in France at Rennes International Business school, as well as Sun Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China.


He is certified on BlockChain business strategy from Be9 London (cohort #1), CPT Star bronze 2016 award with the HKSI and pursues training on machine learning and Artificial Intelligence

Michal Kaczmarski is a San Francisco-based Fintech manager at InvestHK, Hong Kong’s governmental organization focusing on cross-border investment promotion and business facilitation. In his role he supports InvestHK’s 6 offices across Northern, Central and Southern America aiming at increasing Fintech-related investments into Hong Kong. Previously, Mr Kaczmarski looked after Polish user operations at Silicon Valley tech giant – Yelp based, and prior to that he worked in London, and then New York bureau of fDi Magazine, Financial Times’s specialist publication focusing on cross-border investments. Mr Kaczmarski holds an MA in international relations with focus on international trade from University of Warsaw and also studied at City University in London and Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.

He has a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School (IT and Finance), an MBA from the University of Chicago (Finance) and an MA from Cambridge University (Physics).

He is also an active board member and advisor in several organizations in Europe and Asia.

Greg has helped build and launch over 30 financial products with revenues in $100s millions. He helped launch a hedge fund and is an active tech angel investor. Previously ​Greg was COO at Absolute Return Investments, a subsidiary of China Everbright, and prior to that was Global Head of Equity Finance at Macquarie Group. Greg is originally a lawyer, having gained his LLM from the University of London and has 20+ years’ experience in the UK and Asia. Greg loves being a relative newcomer to the insu
